Leslie Rd & Madison Ave Bridgeport, CT, 06606, USA - BridgeportCars parking blocking the bus stop on the corner of Madison Avenue and Leslie Road is a constant problem. Buses need 30 to 35 feet of clearance to pull into the sidewalk so people can get on and off. Bus constantly has to stop in the middle of Madison Avenue because cars block the bus stop and don’t care. Today this gray car is blocking the bus stop and you can see the poor man standing under the bus stop sign is out in the street to flag the bus down because this car is less than 15 feet from the bus stop sign. This car, a tan Versa and a black Mitsubishi SUV are the three worst offenders. For a brief time after we complaint to our council woman, the police department was patrolling the area and ticketing cars, and the parking in the bus stop, stopped. Now that the weather is warmer, it is every day. Buses run from 6 AM until 11 PM and cars are constantly parking in the bus stop. Could police again ramp up their patrols and ticket/tow these cars. Not fair to people who don’t own cars like this poor man waiting in the street to flag down the bus because some inconsiderate car owner blocks the bus stop! Thank you.
